Dot started attending art classes following retirement as a social historian. From childhood she has always loved being outdoors, walking in the hills and mountains. Now she enjoys the challenge of communicating, through her paintings, the feeling of well-being she experiences in the countryside.
At present her work is representational, a straightforward transcription of the landscape in simplified form, using a restricted palette. Increasingly, though, she is drawn towards pattern and abstraction, and is planning a series based on patterns left in the sand at low tide at Ynyslas near her home by the Dyfi estuary.
She is married to Harry, another member of the group, and you can see more of their work on their own website.
